Amy & Dan’s Wedding Day
When two people are meant for each other, it’s honestly just obvious these days. I mean, come on. These two are seriously some of the best clients I’ve ever had. They have been so supportive throughout the entire process of engagement photos, their wedding day, and me trying to start my own business in the middle of everything.
My day started off at Clyde Iron Works with Dan and the groomsmen taking photos around the buildings and with their handcrafted named axes, which were some of the coolest bridal party gift ideas I’ve ever seen by the way. When we were walking around, I was shocked at the amount of ideas these guys had, I mean most guys don’t like photos, but they were all over these… and nailed them ALL!
I then drove over to Saint Michael’s Church, where Amy and the bridesmaids were. The girls were extremely friendly and kind, and to keep the words going, so fun and laid-back! Not too long after, the beautiful flower girls showed up and we all took photos outside of the church with the party and family.
More people started to show up for the ceremony at two o’clock. And at around two forty in the afternoon, they were married! We snuck out shortly after to get a few more photos in. Then we drove to Canal Park to the famous Lake Superior Lakewalk to snap a few photos of just the two of them, before heading to Hoops Brewing Company to get their first drink of the night!
At five o’clock, we head back to Clyde Iron Works for the cocktail hour. It was so great to see more people gathering for them because it proved my point about what kind of people they are. At around six o’clock, we ate an amazing dinner (provided by the Clyde staff) with three different meal options that all looked fabulous! After shoving food in my mouth, it was back to work for me.
There were speeches by Amy’s father (a great comedian by the way), the maid of honor, and the best man. After those, we moved shortly on to a GREAT source of laughter by the comedian (Amy’s father) again by a “welcome to the family/swearing in” ceremony for Dan, and a speech for a beautiful necklace handed down from the Grew family to Amy. Then, they got out their dancing shoes (and probably their wallets at the bar) and went to work on the dance floor!
The way that this whole day went was absolutely perfect. The way this family came together and is so supportive of each other in every visible way is absolutely beautiful. I hope nothing but the best for Amy and Dan, and their whole family for that matter, and I hope their future is as bright and joyous as they are. Cheers to Amy and Dan, and congratulations!
